Amber Galbraith & Barry Smith Appointed as Queen’s Counsel
Compass Chambers is delighted to announce the appointment of new silks, Amber Galbraith QC and Barry Smith QC.
They have been appointed by Her Majesty the Queen on the recommendation of First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, having been nominated by the Lord Justice General. The rank of Queen’s Counsel is generally reserved for those who have distinguished themselves in practice in the Supreme Courts. Before making nominations the Lord Justice General consults other judges, the Lord Advocate, the Dean of the Faculty of Advocates and the President of the Law Society of Scotland.
Amber called to the Bar in 2005 and specialises in Personal Injury, Clinical and Professional Negligence, Fatal Accident Inquiries and Public Inquiries. More details about Amber can be found on her webpage here.
